Nikos was born and raised in the capital of Arcadia, Tripolis Greece autopian land famous for the harmony of wilderness and nature. He holds a Bachelor degree in Biology and a Master in Bioinformatics obtained by the University of Athens in Greece. Nikos received his PhD in Genetics and Genomics from the University of Geneva in Switzerland and his dissertation was focused in dissecting the genetic basis of complex diseases by omics profiling.  Nikos arrived in the UK in Sep 2017 as an SNF postdoctoral fellow (Swiss National Foundation), to elucidate the role of functional genetic variation in immune response and infection by studying gene expression alterations after immunological stimuli in induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC)-derived macrophages. After 2 years in Sanger, he joined forces with team Anderson to give a more disease-oriented flavour to his research project.  Outside science Nikos enjoys travelling and he is passionate about dancing and board games.
